WestReef Services Ltd are looking for a trainee to join our 3-Waters team. This is a great opportunity to launch your career in the water industry.
Our 3-Waters department manages the drinking water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure for the Buller district. We are looking for someone interested in undertaking a Water Industry Apprenticeship, combining on-the-job training with on-line learning and assessment.
Water treatment plant operators have a busy and varied job, where no two days are the same. You will help provide safe drinking water to the communities in Westport, Punakaiki, Reefton and Inangahua. You will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the water treatment process and gain a recognised water qualification on the job.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, with a can-do attitude and the drive to learn new skills. Our work requires someone with a good level of fitness, a drivers licence, and a willingness to undertake practical work and learn to operate equipment and machinery. You will need the flexibility to be part of our 24-hour immediate response service.
In return for your hard work and reliability, we will offer you professional development through on the job training, and the opportunity to complete the NZ Apprenticeship in Water Treatment. This is a great opportunity to obtain an industry qualification while you are earning. WestReef offer stable employment with a successful industry-based company, with lots of support for the professional development of our staff.
We are also open to hearing from experienced operators, or someone with a relevant industrial or trade background, who is keen to learn.
To apply for this role, please submit your application along with a CV and cover letter by 1st February 2022, click here to apply online.
Our workplaces are drug and alcohol free – all successful applicants will be required to undertake a pre-employment drug and alcohol test prior to commencing employment with WestReef Services. As our water treatment plant operators are part of a small, specialised team providing essential lifeline services, COVID vaccination for this role is required.
